The root of the word “technology” is the Greek word tecknos, which means “art.” Technology has been linked to art for centuries. For example, it took almost four years for Leonardo Da Vinci to paint the Mona Lisa, the most famous painting in the world. Today, it would take a graphic artist using a computer about five minutes to reproduce her. Howard Sparks, a well-known author of the 20th century, suggests that, “The art of our era is not art, but technology. Today, Rembrandt is painting automobiles; Shakespeare is writing research papers; Michelangelo is designing more efficient bank lobbies.”

I think that technology is still art, but in a very different type of art. I say this because what you can do in it and what you can do with it are very different things. You can create art with it, like typing something up, a poem maybe, or draw something in it with the paint program. Although it’s root word comes from tecknos, it really hasn’t kept its true meaning, but then again, this is just my thought.

there is a lot of art today in days there is a lot of technology that back then you have to do it by hand or with animals the art is the computers the touched things and other good stuff that we have. thats why i think that the technology is art in these days.

Well, i think today’s technology is really good. It can help you in any problem you have. For example it can help you write an entire book in very short amount of time. It can also harm you if you use it in a wrong way. For example if you go to the internet you can find anything you like, and sometimes you go to some websites you shouldn’t be and that can harm you mentally. If you use technology in the right way it is a wonderful thing.

I think that today’s technology in art is awesome because some artists can draw some beautiful drawings in just 5 minutes. Thats a nice painting to be done in only five minutes. For some other artist in the past will had to take them about half hour to get a nice drawing. Thats the new technology in art, to have a nice drawing in few minutes.

We think that today’s art is consider art but at the same time is not for many reasons. First because back in the days the artist used make their art based on nature and their feelings. In modern art artist make their art based on modern inventions such a cars and the only thing they do is to copy ideas from someone else. But at the same time is art because it takes good talent to draw.

Anybody will think of art as dancing, painting , or singing but i think technology does falls in this category. Incredibly, technology makes things easier for us. From making a long distance call, sending an email to someone on the other side of the world to researching in just seconds. Those who can create new ways of technology are genius because not anybody could have these great ideas. Just think about it, without technology we wouldn’t be able to watch or listen to our favorite artists or read a book in the middl of the night.

The greek word of art, ‘tecknos’, actually makes sense when applied to the modern era. However, art is kind of dead; people actually thrive on the new modern art- desired items such as cars, p.c.’s, and useless junk(that better our lives): technology.
Korea expressed them self with this new art by trying to destroy the U.S. economy, by recreating super notes and smuggling them into the united states. That is their art, its done with technology, and their quite good at it.

I think today’s art can be considered technology, but either way it’s art and it shouldn’t be considered any differently. i mean is it really our fault that Leonardo Da Vinci didn’t have the chance to create the famous Mona Lisa with technology and had to spend four years painting a very simple drawing… just sayin!

I think that art is not just technology,it is what people want it to be. it is mostly the idea of eachperson. Nowadays what is considered art is made using technology, like music, clothes, homes,foods, paintings, and any other things made that people consider art. paintings dont necessarily need technology to draw. for example all the people who would draw things by hand.

Well for me i do think that art is technology. not only how the computers outside is designed but what went into it.. I think its sort of the same concept with technology and art. When people think of drawing or creating new art they construct their art one portion at a time, same goes into technology, the first computer was structured like art, it might of looked really big and bulky but it was art. People who build computers are artists. they construct the computer to be a masterpiece. so yeah, i do think that technology these days is art.

Wow this art for me its to hard but this picture is so cool that i wish to be like that person but it will take time to make that kind of picture. Today for art for me is that it will consider as technology because the art and technology will rime as a poet. Sometimes when i see some pictures on the wall i say to my self that i cant make any of those pictures because i cant draw or paint on the wall that much perfect as the person who make a perfect job because i have to practice allot. If Howard Sparks was on a job of of grafting right now he will earn that much money and that will be awesome.

I think it is art but it a little bit different. Painting the old way required certain kinds of skills and took a long time to paint a good picture. Now you need computer skills to do it and it only takes a few seconds to do cool pictures. But yes, it is a kind of art.

2 me, i find that technology is still art because if its something goo d that can effect the life structures then it can be called art. 4 instance Da Vinci changed the way art was formed at that time of period. n i believe that he changed it fully with the painting of Mona Lisa. In my opinion i think that technology is art, too. The reason I think this is because an artist has to think of what he has to do so that his art work is right and so it would not make any mistakes. I think that technology is art, but to us of the 21st century. Back in the days artists took several days, months, and even years to create sculptures, paintings, and other forms of art. Today there are still artists that take their time to create works of art, but there are others that use more modern ways such as using computer software and other technological devices. Either way i still consider technology to be art because it did take a certain amount of human beings to create the special devices they used to create whatever piece of artwork they made. =]

We both think that technology is art. Technology brings art to this world in many ways. For example, when you open any kind of computer that has windows, you can find the Paint program. There you could make things, etc. Another way that technology is an art, is the way it is. Technology has advanced so much in the past years. The supercomputer the Jaguar, for example is humongous. iPods too. The classic iPod can carry 20,000 songs. It’s really crazy. In hospitals too!! There was a robot made so it could be a neurosurgeon assistant. Technology is definitely an art. 😀

Art isn’t how it was created, whether it be by hand or technology, but the meaning behind it. The creator or artist is giving us a story through their art. Although I do agree with “The art of our era is not art, but technology. When you go into a bank you see painting that having meaning behind them, decorating the ceiling. Our art today is being used but isn’t given the credit it deserves.
