Go to the following page for today’s assignment. CD Reviews.

We will be adding a new section to our website that reviews new Audio albums and CD’s that are released.  CD’s are released every week on Tuesdays.  I’d like for you to read a few reviews and come up with one of your own.

It is time to create your own theme song.
Once you are done with the theme song for your TV Show, save it as an MP3 and upload it to http://www.divshare.com

E-mail the link to me so that I can listen and download.

Once again, my email address is ecisneros@rcoe.us

I will be selecting a few from each class to be added to our Class Recordings section of this website.

You need to know how to do the following:
1) How to save an MP3 file from either Garage Band or FL Studio
2) How to upload an MP3 to http://www.divshare.com
3) How to send your download link from http://www.divshare.com

** Remember to be aware of the bitrate of your MP3 file **

Your idea for a new and original TV sitcom has been selected to run a full season, but first you must provide a theme song for your show. You must first research and look back at some of the most memorable theme songs used in the past. List 10 theme songs that may have stuck in your head a time or two.

You can use the following website to begin your search, but google and wikipedia are also good starts.
http://www.televisiontunes.com

Traditional sitcoms have been struggling to maintain their audiences, which are increasingly turning to reality TV.  Suppose you’ve been asked to revitalize the sitcom industry by creating a new, original show.  Write two paragraphs about your show, explaining what it’s about, where it will be set and what kind of actors it will star.

Once again, one of our very own students at Desert Mirage High School is nominated by the Desert Sun for Friday Night Hero.

Let’s make it 3 weeks in a row that a DM Player wins and 2nd time for Ivan Ruiz this year.  Click on the image below to vote!

I just received a signed Immortal Technique poster in the mail.
Much respect to Immortal Technique and Viper Records for reaching out to our class.

I’m still waiting to hear back from KeyKool at Up Above Records and Doodlebug from Digable Planets.  Both said they would send us posters for our classroom as well.

This is what is written on the Immortal Technique poster…

“Peace Erasmo,
Sigue en la lucha.”
-Immortal Technique.

  • Producing Natural-Sounding MIDI Notes
When making electronically-produced music, you’ll find yourself often programming notes rather than playing them. People who don’t understand the medium will say that this makes the music cold, mechanical and lifeless, but they simply don’t understand the amount of work and craftsmanship that goes into manually arranging notes. A composer needs to take into […]
  • Weekly Music Writing – Like lifting weights made of creativity
A while back I wrote about writing music constantly in order to build your skills and flex your creativity. I’ve been making music for several years now and my biggest project had been a 16 track score for a tragically unreleased computer game, which I finished in about 6 months. This was a great exercise, […]
